Oiled or lacquered flooring? 

There is little difference in the purchase cost between a lacquered and oiled floor, therefore it is down to you as a customer to choose the look you enjoy the most. Lacquered hardwood floors are pretty much non-maintenance. They must be swept or vacuumed from time to time and occasionally a little wiping over with a damp cloth will be enough. They will, however, show surface scratches and marks over the years. When this happens, you can buff, recoat or sand and refinish them.
