TYPES OF LAMINATE FLOORING
TYPES OF LAMINATE FLOORING
High-quality laminate flooring will last for decades with some products offering a lifetime warranty.
Waterproof and water-resistant laminate are made like traditional laminate flooring, but with a slight difference in the core layer. The core layer, typically made of compressed high-density fibreboard, is where the most waterproof and water-resistant qualities live.
AC4 rated will last longer and offer very good scratch resistance, along with a lifetime warranty. Being an almost waterproof laminate, this ensures that it can be used in all areas of the home, commercial spaces, and more.
A 12mm laminate floor AC5 will be a little stronger than an 8mm laminate floor simply because it is thicker however the surface will have the same abrasion class so any benefit gained from the thicker material is minor and rarely noticeable. These grades of laminate flooring AC5 & AC6 usually have a square edge on all sides of the boards for a more industrial looking finish with grained surface effects.
